Beautiful oil on board painting by noted artist David Blythe (1815-1865) of Cribbage Card Players from the 1850s.

This is a wonderful oil on wood panel depicting a genre painting of two people playing cribbage on a keg with a dog looking on.

A rare find in today's market and signed by the artist in the lower left hand corner.   Measuring 15 inches x 13 inches with an image size of 7 3/4 inches by 10 1/2 inches, it is in its original beautiful frame.

A rare opportunity to own a piece of this artists works.   Blythe is known for his satirical genre paintings.

The painting has an upper light on it and will be shipped out by our local Pack and Send Plus in Waterbury, Vermont, due to the value, or your are welcome to pick it up at our location.  We are happy to get an estimated shipping quote for you.

Clients are unable to view pieces at our property at this time.    We will be happy to take any additional photos that you wish upon request.

In 1846 he settled in Uniontown Pennsylvania.  Many of his paintings that he did between 1854 and 1860 were of street urchins, expressing his own problems with alcoholism, depression and money.
