New England Glass Company Amberina Optic Vase - 1
Beautiful New England Glass Company amberina optic vase.
Circa 1890. Measures 6 1/4” tall x 3 7/8” diameter at the widest point.
Hand-blown amberina (amber-to-red) glass with pronounced optic design, typical of New England Glass Company production in the late 19th century. Rich warm amber tones graduating to deep cranberry at the rim, enhanced by the optic ribs that catch and refract light. Slight outward-flaring lip and rounded base consistent with period forms.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with expected minor surface wear consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or repairs observed. Small manufacturing bubbles and faint pontil mark at base—authentic period characteristics.
A fine example of New England Glass Company craftsmanship, suitable for collectors of Victorian-era art glass or as an elegant accent for classic interior decor.
