Fabulous estate huge 32 3/4” tall covered Country Store apothecary sponge jar from the 1870 period.
It is in great condition; The top finial has heavy cut glass facets and the bottom rim of the top has the normal roughness with some very minor chips in the making when it was cut. There are a couple of bubbles in the top. I have photographed this in the last 2 photographs.
This is truly an impressive piece of glass from a good period having a diameter of 12” and the top opening being 9 3/4”. The glass is very clear.
How it made it in this great condition, I will never know.
