Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Altar Needlepoint, Peacock, Silk 8' Tapestry

Absolutely beautiful, large Chinese, Qing Dynasty, altar needlepoint, silk tapestry.

Circa 1880 and measures 7’10” x 38 1/2”.

The tapestry has beautiful lace and needlepoint work forming a peacock in the center. Having beautiful, black leaf lace work around the outer edge, the 7’10” height is with the top blue piece with white lace work folding down and is not counting that piece.

It is in amazingly beautiful and bright condition for its age. Does need to be cleaned, also having some minor smudging on the back, as the photographs show.

The full panel 7’10” x 38 1/2” is in remarkable, beautiful and tight condition.

The top blue piece, which is to fold over, is the only part, which has some issues. The white lace on that top piece has some fraying, as the photographs also show and on the back side it has a small loss to the material.

This is a beautiful, all hand done piece of art for your pleasure.
