Antique Russian Icon, Saint Sergiy Praying at the Tomb of His Parents

Beautiful antique Russian Icon, Saint Sergiy praying at the tomb of his parents.

Circa 1880's and measures 8 3/4" high x 12 1/4" long.

It is depicting Saint Sergiy, praying before his parents at their tomb. His left hand is holding his rosary and Saint Sergiy spent 40 days in prayer for them.

The icon is in good condition, with a chip at the bottom between both windows, which is consistent with the age and is in untouched, original condition.  There is some wear to the bordering of the outside of the stunning image.  It is all hand painted with beautiful mute colors done in gorgeous detail and gold leaf.

* I took a main photograph with light, as well as other areas to emphasis the gorgeous colors.

This piece would look absolutely stunning in any setting.  Would be a great addition for any religious or icon collector.  Enjoy!!!
