Beautiful, original pair of high gold, hand painted panels of Emperor Shah Jahan and Mughal Queen Mumtaz, from the Mahal Delhi School, from the 1870 period.

These are amazingly well done, finely enhanced with jewels throughout both paintings.

Shah Jahan l (Shihab-ud-Din Muhannad Khurram, Jan. 5, 1592 - Jan. 22, 1666, the fifth emperor of the Mughal Empire.  He reigned from January 1628 until July 1658.

Mughal Queen Mumtaz, (Mumtaz Mahal also called Arjumand Banu Begum), 1993 - June 17, 1631, wife of Shah Jahan, Mughal emperor of India.  Her memory inspired the construction of the Taj Mahal, where she is entombed.
